Say you want to increase the twitter followers and you want to target the general audience that are interested in everyday topics like news, current affairs etc. If you add RSS feed from different such sources to your twitter account, then will it be quite beneficial or not for continuous increase of your followers? RSS feed can be managed through sites like twitterfeed.com etc.
Well, this won't directly affect the way your twitter followers increase. The only way to do that is by having other people retweet your posts or to follow other people and hope they follow you back. That's of course besides having your follow me on twitter link everywhere.
To get followers just tweet what people may find interesting. Tweet with what's trending, people will notice you. And don't tweet marketing crap because in my experience you will not get a single follower. If you're going to be doing marketing than your only choice would be to get auto follow software (unless you're Tony Robbins).
I disagree with that. YOu can be doing marketing and ALSO be posting interesting stuff. There are many ways to do that. I chose to use the TweetAdder softare just because I"m kind of a heavy weight user and I manage and grow accounts for many clients so that way I don't have to spend hours and hours on Twitter. The secret for me has been to make sure that I always do a bit of both. I send a lot of marketing to my main marketing account, which is at twitter.com/boulderweb but I also then send a lot of free stuff, like free icons, free keyword tools and then genuine nice products that I buy myself and recommend to my users. But mostly, make sure that everywhere, and I mean everywhere, you business card, on your website, your blogs, your email signature (this one is specially important - I have gotten a lot of followers just because on my email sig I say FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER right after my last line of my message). Make sure to put your follow me on twitter everywhere! Create tons of profiles on all kinds of social networking websites,
lol. Okay, I see your point, but I'm talking about the people who just do marketing tweets ad never post anything original, just quotes, that's all. Like twitter.com/spikehumer.
Right right, I'd say another thing is really try to be yourself. Twit about trivial stuff as well and stuff you are genuinely interested in... It really isnt so hard right? But I better add a signature here cause I've been posting so much and I could be using these posts to get people to follow me on twitter!!! )
Following others and getting followed by others is the only best way to increase the twitter following. We therefore need to be choosy about following other, thnking about their potentialality to follow us.
