I have only just started to use Google adsense, I have recieved my first cheque and should be getting my next within the next couple of weeks. Please take a look at http://www.pokergently.com and see if you can see any immediaetly obvious way I can improve my CTR. This is how it stands at the moment: Page impressions : 313,782 Clicks : 2,768 Page CTR : 0.88% Page eCPM : US$0.59 I feel the 0.88% CTR is too low and would like to see it between maybe 2 - 5%. Do you think it is possible? How can I improve things?
Yep, try to use large rectangle and high skyscraper on the left hand (around menu). Your ads are placet rather low - if you put it higher, it could help to improve your CTR in general.
I could put a skyscaper ad on the left hand column but it would need to be beneath the main menu.. I have a feeling that it would be too low then though. Is their anything I can do to the main adsense ads within the center content section? I have never used channels, played with borders or colors or anything.. Pretty much everything is default. Is their anything that would work better in these areas.
1)jerdei is correct, you are putting adsense on pages with embedded video content that you almost certainly do not have permission to use for commercial purposes. 2)on top of that, you have more than the maximum allowable number of adsense ad blocks on each page. 3)you have posted details of your adsense earnings. all of which are major tos violations.
With all due respect, 1) I am getting the content from established websites such as Google Video and Youtube.. these sites allow you to add the code to your blog. 2) I am using 2 adsense blocks, what is the maximum? It is not like I have a proxy site with the entire page covered in adsense.. 3) I haven't posted my adsense earnings.. You have no idea how much I earnt, all I mentioned were my impressions, CTR and eCPM. Anyway, the post it not meant to be about the legitimase of the website, it is supposed to be about how I can improve CTR. Thanks.
what good is improved ctr when you are banned? 1) repeat after me: you do not have copyright permission to use that video content for commercial purposes. 2) you have a lot more than 2 adsense blocks on your homepage. 3) the info you posted is a violation of the adsense tos.
Ok, I refuse to get into a slnging match... 1) If it's good enough for Google and Youtube, it's good enough for me. I hold zero responsibility for the content on their sites... sorry... 2) I have to adsense files, 1 in the header and one in the body. Ok, so they repeat eash post, this is something I can do not much about. If you can help instead of slag my site then please do. 3) Fuck the TOS. I can take or leave Google, Their are hundreds of similar programs out their, Yahoo, Adbrite etc I said I had only just started, I didn't read every word of the TOS and go over it with a fine tooth comb. Do you always agree everything you are told not too?
o.k., you don't give a sh$t about keeping your adsense account. 1) google and youtube did not tell you steal their content for commercial use, it's 100% your choice... sorry... 2) finally you admit to breaking the tos limit on ad blocks per page... learn how to write html. 3) fuck your loser attitude. nobody is helping you here, because it's obviously a waste of time for an account that will get banned. good luck in the future.
