Can you have XYZ ad-network CPM ads together with Adsense PPC ads?

    I read alot about CPM's and PPC's in the forums, and it looks like, for better or worse, there are alot of ad networks out there. As I'm about to launch my first site, my question is whether or not you can get paid from different CPM ad networks using the same traffic. Ideally, it seems to me that ad networks wouldn't want competitor ads shown next to theirs, but I really can't tell when I look at some of the sites out there.

    Now this brings me to another question, are CPM ads from network XYZ allowed next to Adsense content ads? If yes, is there a restriction on the number of CPM ads that Google will allow?
