Can you have a high QS for adwords but not be ranked very well or at all by search engines?

If I only wanted to use adwords for traffic it seems if this was true I could build a high QS landing page and not worry about it being a "thin" site or not.

I think it would be quite possible. A quality score isn't going to look at ranking factors like backlinks, domain age, keywords in domain, etc.

    Absolutley!

You can even drive adwords traffic to a site that is banned from the search results.
