I see guys hanging out at Staples Center after games (Lakers, Clippers, Kings) jumping up and down waving behind the TV guys. I'd like to hire someone to be there with a sign for my website. Anyone wanna be my sign guy? You can even put your team logo on my sign and make that sideways peace sign or hold your cellphone up to your ear if you like.

There are too many people holding signs to really get noticed anymore. I think you're going to have to take this a step further, go streaking at the next World Cup with your website painted on your body. I will give 1 positive iTrader rep for anyone who does this for my website.
In this case, after a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game, there are usually about a dozen fans jumping up and down behind the window of the post game show. Several have a phone to there head saying "dude, can you see me?", others are jumping up and down and one might have a sign with just a Lakers logo.
its a very innovative marketing strategy but not very effective cause, i read and agree with the article, ads during/after hot TV soap doesnt make such impact, just think how many people watchin a match will would want to log on to PC to see your site
The goal with marketing is not always to make the sale (or get the web visit) right then it can be the goal just to have people aware of your brand.
And who knows, this could lead to word-of-mouth about "that dude jumping up and down holding an XXXXXX.com sign!"
