I have a website - www [DOT] resolutionsnewyear [DOT] com which I started on December 13th. I coded the theme myself (its neat, SEO-friendly and validated XHTML and CSS), posted 5 articles about new year resolutions, got 3 backlinks (one on Wikipedia's article about New Year's Resolutions, nofollow) and did nothing else. I started receiving traffic from Google and mainly Wikipedia. On December 30th, I got 87 visits, on 31st I got 825 visits, on Jan 1st I got 684 visits, on Jan 2nd I got 391 visits and on Jan 3rd I got 48 visits. Half of my traffic came from Wikipedia and the other half from Google. The site also got a PR1 in the recent Google update. I also earned $15 from Adsense between December 30th and Jan 03rd. Here are my questions: How much would this site sell for? What would be the value of the theme? (its custom coded, and is totally SEO-friendly) Are the site traffic and earnings below average for a site like this or are they good? If I'm not selling this site, what changes do you suggest I make to the site? Please give me your suggestions and replies. Thanks.
its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it... after looking at your stats... its a seasonal niche. theme is too simple - nothing grabs your attention - look to incorporate more colors or images. ...obviously just my opinion
I have to agree with the above. There is nothing overly stunning about the site. It pretty much just looks like an excuse for adsense. It does not offer any great advice or suggestions, just recapping the standard faire. It would have been a little more interesting, form a readers point of view, and as a buyer if you had suggested popular products (through an affiliate program of course ) for weight loss, stop smoking, saving money, making a family budget, career education, home improvement, interpersonal relationships, investments, and the ton of other things that people desire to do to start a new year. Basically, it's a very plain MFA, that will probably only do well 3 days out of the year with limited content that you have on it. I wouldn't buy it, I could do the same thing on any one of my blogs just by writing a few articles about the same subject matter. JMO
