    Hi,

If you buy a popular domain name with a company's name, can you get sued?

    Thank you!

Yes, you can get sued. In most cases you will not. What you will get is an email/letter demanding that you stop using the domain name and possibly turn it over. If that fails, they will take you into arbitration in which case you will probably lose and have to pay the arbitration fee (I think it was $1,500 USD). Of course, some uses of a trademarked domain are acceptable when they cannot be confused with an official site.
