    Hi there,

Does anyone know. Being this had been the standard for permanent redirects, do you know if you can get penalized for having too many??

    Thanks

Not sure. I've got 3 in some places (different types of inventory get displayed on different types of pages). This was a work around for IT. It doesn't seem to hurt us at all.

Yeah I hear ya .. my entire site(s) uses Mod reqrite for the SEF URLs which is essentially a 'htaccess' redirect...

So I suppose it depends on what they're trying to accomplish... hmmmm

U use dozens of them and I've never seen a problem....as gypsy said mod rewrite is a form of permanent redirect and almost everyone uses them..

I think the question was if page1 redirects to page2 redirects to page3...or am I mistaken?

Thank this helps. I have a lot of inbound links to my site that have dynamic parameters so I want to do a mod rewrite and 301 redirect and there are thousands of them. (sorry I'm not personally doing the tech stuff if but that is the best recap I can give :)
