Not sure. I've got 3 in some places (different types of inventory get displayed on different types of pages). This was a work around for IT. It doesn't seem to hurt us at all.
Yeah I hear ya .. my entire site(s) uses Mod reqrite for the SEF URLs which is essentially a 'htaccess' redirect... So I suppose it depends on what they're trying to accomplish... hmmmm
google loves 301's I havnt had any experience getting hurt by using them and we have used thousands of them.
U use dozens of them and I've never seen a problem....as gypsy said mod rewrite is a form of permanent redirect and almost everyone uses them..
Thank this helps. I have a lot of inbound links to my site that have dynamic parameters so I want to do a mod rewrite and 301 redirect and there are thousands of them. (sorry I'm not personally doing the tech stuff if but that is the best recap I can give
