Can you get penalized for certain keywords and not others ?

    During the google dance one of my keywords were ranking between 10-20 and now this one has blown out to 150. Is this just the google dance doing it's thing or could it be some sort of penalty.

    I still rank number for a less competitive keyword so i was wondering if you can get penalized on one set of keywords and not others ?

    Anyone have any answers on this one ?

    You know the answer. Less competitive keywords has less number of results so there is a chance for your site to appear. With high competitive keyword, there are plenty of other results to display if your site is victim of Google dance or penalization.
