Didn't really know where to post this, but here seemed ok.

Can you get in trouble for using a brands name in your domain name?

So for example I set up a shop selling nike football boots, can I use a domain name like www.nike-football-boots.com ?

I know people do it, I've seen lots of affiliate shops who do this and I'm guessing most of the time it's fine because ultimately you are just increasing profits for the brand.

But say I started ranking higher than the brand itself for certain keywords, will they kick up a fuss?

    Thanks guys
