If you had a powerful premium domain name, then how would you find funding, considering the only thing you got (cash-wise) is the domain name?
You could have a domain name like "tv.com". Just because it has the term "tv" in it, it doesn't necessarily mean that people will buy anything from the site. You have to market your site good. People buy because of good marketing - not because of good domain names.
You will have to put a business plan around the marquee domain name. That means you will have to put together a business model, product/service to be sold, sales/marketing plan, etc., and then shop it around to potential investors. The size of the investment needed will be based upon the business plan and the resultant revenue projections needed to satisfy investors. The percentage of the company that you will sell to the investors will depend upon the amount of investment funding, the perceived potential of the business and the experience of the management team.
You definitely need a business plan as @jrbiz says. However you also need to sell yourselves or you may find an investor who just wants to buy your plan and your domain but wants to cut you out.
