I'd like to know what people's experiences are with blogs and G's little sandbox. Did your blog remain there for the customary 4-6 months or did you get it out faster? And if you did get ranked quickly, how did you do it?
Are you just talking about having it indexed in the search engine? Mine took about a week to show up in google but I had the URL in a lot of places. A good one to start is put your blog in your signature here on DP and any other forum youre a member of. Dont forget to submit your RSS feed to a lot of the feed sites out there. Heres a link to a thread with a bumch of free directories to submit it to: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=670943 Dont forget the social bookmarking sites like Digg and Stumble. It takes a little time but usually. Find related blogs and make quality comments and see about link exchange. Hope that helps some.
Getting your site indexed can be fast, but not until Google lets your blog out of its Sandbox. I guess the best way is to always ping whenever you update your blog. Also, try submitting your sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools.
Isn't there some grey hat technique you can do with blogs to get rankings right off the bat? I thought G liked blogs better and would rank blogs quicker than other sites. Don't sploggers start blogs for just this reason, because they don't have to wait 4-6 months to get ranked for certain keywords?
