Check your websites PR using this tool http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php
No one really knows precisely how page rank works-- we only know that it is related to the amount and/or quality of the links pointed at your website. Hope this helps.

Well no one yet knows how does the pagerank system works, however many of the experts have come close to find out the logic behind it. It is assumed that the higher number of pagerank pages you have as backlinks for your site, the pagerank of your site will increase. For example you can check the table chart given on checkpagerank.net, where it is showing how much links you require to get a PR2 or maybe PR8. That chart might help you to increase your pagerank ;)

Google "Google Page Rank" and get the inside scoop from Google. If you want to know your PR and that of other sites, install the Google toolbar with the Google PR tool.
