Can you do this with Google Analytics?

    Hi,

Firstly I would like to know how often the Analytics stats update?

Secondly I would like to know, which is very important and the only reason why I am trying them out is if you can monitor each source of traffic?

For example, if I was having traffic from domainname1.com and also domainname2.com and also domainname3.com, then could I select one of them sources and get further information from them. For example, how many hits came from that source per day, per week, etc. But the main thing is I want to know easily and quickly to how many pageviews of my site on average every visitors visits who has come from that source (domainname2, for example.).

    Can you do that?

    Re: Firstly
When I first add and confirm a site in Analytics I start seeing data as soon as 10 minutes so it seems to be ahead of my Webalizer in this respect and obviously more useful.

I've had it up for about 3 hours now and it's not showing any stats what so ever, but just seems to be slowing my site down a notch officially due to the extra overhead.

I have noticed that stats have been updating super slowly over the past couple days. I normally check my prior days stats at 2am and recently i have been showing flat periods from 4pm - midnight.... Then when I come back at 6am everything seems updated. Has any one else noticed anything like this ?

I read their FAQ and it says that the stats roughly update every 24 hours.

Well, my stats done it's first update last night and I could actually then use the stats to see if I could do what I wanted with them and yes Google Analytics is just want I needed.

Who uses Google Analytics here, I have a few questions:

    1. Is it reliable?

    2. Have you had any negative experience with them from downtime, which makes your site slow and things?

    3. I am thinking of using them on a much larger site that has over 300,000 pageviews a day and growing rapidly. Will Google Analytics be able to handle this and not slow the site down?

    4. I haven't really noticed my site slowing down using the stats, but I have heard it from others. Is this slow down not really that noticable?

    5. Do you have to pay to use Google Analytics after you reach a certain amount of pageviews per month?

Hope someone can answer my questions or even better a few.

    Thanks!

you cant use google analytics with 300k pageviews/day if you don't have an adwords acc.Max 5m page views/month without adwords account

Whooops. I mean't to say that I am have 300k pageviews a month and growing rapidly and not per day.

So it is free, but when I reach 5m pageviews/mo then I have to either pay or use Adwords. If that is the case then I would have known my traffic by then and also what sort of traffic that works and don't so I probably will not need it then or I will just pay them or something if I have to, but would not want to use Adwords if it will not convert.

But lets see how things turn out.

Does anybody know that if you are getting around 2m pageviews a month, if analytics will cope with it or will it just slow your site down dramatically?

One advise. After installing Google Analytics my Adsense revenue is dropped 50%. Not bad. I am not the only one who got this experience. So what? I use instead of Google Analytics a free version of "Deep log Analyzer"
