See the image below - often I find Google returning some of the #1 serps as below. Mine however does not though it ranks #1. Does this happen by the use of Google sitemaps? Any ideas?
well sitemap is the key to success of any site cos by submitting sitemap you are letting google knows that what your site contain Thanks
Jain, I wish to know that by using Google Sitemaps will that particular thing be achieved? If getting to #1 on a particular keyword is "success" then I have achieved that - but I want to know how to get that particular layout returned by google for the #1 position.
Hi Hexadesigns Sitemaps isnt the only reason that you get a doorway to the internal pages on Google. What happens is that sites like the one you have shown in the image have established themselves as authority sites over the years.....high quality links, good on page optimization and off page optimization. As such Google picks up 8 of the highly sought after pages on the site and clubs them together into that one search result. Its again,as usual an internal thing with Google but if your site is already ranking one on certain keywords, make sure you're growing the organic way in terms of backlinks and using the right anchor texts.have a focus on the core pages of your site and do deep linking as well....you should get to where HTC is currently
Thanks for the insight Robin. Really appreciate it - so actually there is no technical issues involved here but just the sheer authority and good "organic" quality of backlinks to the pages. Is that link number fixed to 8 or it can be just 2 or 4.
Those links are completely decided by google. Sitemap helps but do not decide any of these links...Google itself determine these links according to the popularity of links!
