Can you define an athiest with out referring to God?

    No. The word Athiest, itself is a compound word. I means one who does not belive in God.

    However, an agnostic, can be defined without directly refering to God, though it must be done indirectly.

    However, as an athiest is "sure" in his mind that God does not exist. He, by nature, must define himself as one "lacking in belief in God."

    As Athiest is not one who believes in something, but one who does not believe in something. In this case, someone. namely God. There is no positive belief that defines an athiest, only none belief in God.
