I'm planning to create my own e-commerce store to sell a poster I created. The subject is History. I'm thinking about to have the store in a basic way but what I see to drive a maximum of traffic to my store is thousand of pages with related articles about history hiden on my site. With links that goes to the home page or product page.

    www.mystore.com for the home page
    www.mystore.com/french-history/1939

Is this ok to do this?
Does this strategy has a name?
What do you guys think about this?
    How to maximize it?
    Is it profitable?

    Merci y'all!

    (from Athens, GA!)

If you're planning on doing it with the Wikipedia content from your other post it probably won't work. There is nothing wrong with creating general content pages (original content) to beef up your e-commerce store. A lot of companies do it but I don't know if there is a name for it.

don't try to decieve the search engines, you'll pay the penalties and scraping content from other sites will not do much for you.

If you sit and write unique content for those thousands of pages then its ok
