Just want some advice...I use paypal to sell single items using paypal with no problems. What I need to know though as I am setting up a make-up site selling multiple items is, can someone purchase and then combine postage, as I see it they will pay postage for each item purchsed. This could then go way above what it would cost. My only other option if not is to add postage into the price and send for free. I do intend to place a different shopping cart on there, but just want to see how it goes before I do. Hope that drivel makes sense, thanks for any help.
A proper shopping cart would probably be the best way to go about it. Currently, Paypal only offers the option of Shipping cost per item like you described or as a flat fee or percentage base on the dollar value spend. For the later option, you can set that up using the Shipping Calculation option in your profile. However, a proper shopping cart would be a better option as you will have more flexibility and probably the ability to set different shipping options (eg domestic and international shipping).
Thanks Eddy, any clue as to which to use? I don't want to spend too much as I want to see how it goes first.
Well, I don't use a shopping cart system as I have nothing to physically ship but you could take a look at OS Commerce http://www.oscommerce.com/solutions/oscommerce . And it is going to cost you ...... nothing to use it There is a demo at http://demo.oscommerce.com/
Nothing? Thanks I will take a look at that and see if it suits my needs, can't believe its free though.
