When person is selling backlinks his put down "Site has over 51,000 EDU backlinks. - Site has over 3,000 GOV backlinks"
Edu - education? and gov- government?
Such links more valuable for Google or what?

1,190 posts and this is the information you give to others?

Here's an excerpt from Matt Cutts's Blog:

As rzvagelsky said it's not really a boost, it's more a matter of TRUST. Those domains are more closely controlled and a link from them is more difficult to get. If a .gov links to a page, there's a good chance that it's a decent resource. If a .com domain links to a page, who knows what the true quality of it is.

It's not the TLD that gives the domains more trust, it's the age and incoming links that they tend to have. The TLD is no more trusted than any other .com

Absolutely :).You will not see MFA shit on most gov and .edu sites.
Most of them tend to have a good rapport with the search engines because they are quality

As Brian added, a link from an edu or a gov isn't that easy to obtain, and to gain one naturally your site must be really good.

    Do you have proof?

I know if you do get a .edu or .gov link it must mean your site is very good... but does it really improve your search engine rankings or just your credibility?

.edu links and .gov are mostly considered sources of educational and non-commercial content. These extensions are not easily obtainable, and they indicate that the website is managed by an accredited educational institution or a govt. entity. in other words, the site is more of an educational or informational site, rather than commercial content.

As mentioned earlier, Backlinks to your website from such sites will not provide any kind of a boost as such to any website, it only means that ... that particular link is a high quality link.

    Cheers

NO! It's the site itself that is trusted not the TLD.

    I had always thought TLD's didn't make a difference.
