Can you choose keywords?

I am using Adsense on a rotating site, but the ads are not really picking up on the related topic on the website - and in some cases come up in german! Is there a way to specify what kind of ads you want to see on the site, eg. shoes, marketing etc?

Sorry if there has been a similar post, I couldn't find it. If there is please point me in the right direction :D

As mad4 stated, optimize the site for the keywords you want. That is the key!

Thanks. I think the rotator might be messing around with it. Am not sure how to fix that though. Will keep trying :D

A lot of times the domain name controls much of the ad's being displayed on the site, do you think that could factor into this?

Am not sure, seems to be totally random. Domain name is traffic bunnies - is a traffic exchange, and the ads are not related to either term, or mst of the time, ther text on the pge. I have changed to Adbrite to give them a try. The ads are showing up a bit better, because I am able to enter the keywords. Would rather use Adsense, but at the moment the ads are coming up alright.

    Thanks for your suggestions :D

Domain name does not make a difference. I see domains all the time that rank highly for particular phrases and display ads for those keywords but they don't contain the keywords in their domain. it is all about SEO, make sure your on page optimzation is perfect, this will help the ads you disply.

yeah. if you want to optimize your site for cameras or something write a few articles on how to use your camera. or how to get images off your camera and onto your computer or something. or camera reviews. there is all kinds of ways that you can put content onto your site to hit the keyword that you want.

so yes you can choose your keyword it'll just take google a week or so to figure it out.

You might focus on the specifics mentioned in a number of posts on this forum regarding proper SEO including which tags make the most impact for the search engines (e.g. Title, headings, bold, italics, etc.) along with content. It seems the search engines figure if you are making a point on the page, they should give it credit.

    Hope this helps! :)
