amazon has your id in the image link, can i change the dimensions and host it somewhere else and i still get credited
Depending on which type of banner, you may be able to change the dimensions through html. You can also upload the image on some 3rd party hosting like tinypic or flickr and insert your affiliate link into the image url on your website, to do the job.
