So when trying to buy a domain like godaddycoupons.com from Godaddy themsevles, you cannot.

But it seems like I can buy a domain with their name in it from a site like Network Solutions.

So why haven't I seen website with godaddy in the URL ever?

If I bought one sucessfully, should I be concerned about compyright infirngement?

You can register the domain, but the problem is you may loose it.

I would suggest that you contact Godaddy, inform them of the domain and what you intend to do with it and get permission from them.

If they give you written permission, then do it.

If you don't, they may take the domain from you in future.

It depends on what you will do with the domain.
If you will compete with them ,than they will sure make a complaint at Wipo.
If you just post some news ,events, just to get some traffic you may have a chance to keep the domain.

You should really visit the WIPO website and read through some of the decisions. You can lose the domain even if you profit from it.

Simple answer is that, yes, you can buy a domain name with the word "godaddy" in it, BUT, you're looking at a heap of legal issues for TM infringements!

Better not mess around with trademark issues, maybe you can try acronyms like GDcoupons.com or something like that. :)

It is risky to buy a domain with word Godaddy in it as Godaddy is a registered Trademark and yes this will lead to Copyriht Infringement and You may also loose your domain :)

GoDaddy is a registered name, so the answer is no, you cannot.

If you are looking for a potential TM lawsuit, by all means, register a companies name in your domain you buy

Adding words or letters to trademark when registering a domain does NOT get around infringement.

if you buy a really good one with godaddy in the domain then godaddy will offer you money before legal actionm

because it is cheaper for them to give you hundreds of dollars instead of paying thousands of dollars on legal action

It's all based on the faith: If you buy godaddyfanclub (dot) com im sure godaddy will love that and leave you alone. If you get godaddycoupons then you might be hurting them by spreading promotional codes and offers that are originally targeted then that might upset them and could put their lawyers into action. simple advice stay away from copyrighted names you will save time and money.

    Good luck.
