Can you buy a product on cb through your own link?

Do you know on which page I can find the rule that clickbank allows you to use your own clickbank affiliate link to purchase a product you promote?
I read that this is possible in post, read the cb rules, but could not find it.
Thanks a lot for your help!

Yes, it's perfectly fine to buy a product using your own link. It's not in the CB rules because it's not forbidden :)

CB just doesn't like the idea of people registering simply to get massive discounts on products and that's why they have the "5 credit card numbers + 2 payment methods" rule.

Wait, whats the 5 credit card + 2 payments rule?
as of the moment, I've only used clickbank to buy products through my own affiliate links, lol

I've got like $120 from my own affiliate commissions, should I be expecting a check since my payment threshold is at $100?

You gotta have purchases from 5 credit cards with and 2 different payment methods before you can get a paycheck.

Heh, sorry ComradeChen, if you've been paying with the same credit card or PayPal account, I'm afraid you have a long way to go until you can receive the money.

The rule that I was referring to (also known as CDR) means that a new account must receive sales from at least 5 different credit card numbers and at least 2 different payment methods (PayPal, MasterCard, Visa) before any checks will be dispatched. Read ClickBank's Accounting Policy for a more detailed description of this rule.

My guess is that this rule is in place to protect both merchants and affiliates from losing money on ordinary buyers who simply happen to know a thing or two about affiliate programs.

By the way, the payment threshold can be set much lower than $100, to like $20 I think, even if you have a new account.

booo, I'm not getting a clickbank check anytime soon then :(

I don't see anyway to lower the payment threshold, perhaps the policy has changed?
or maybe I'm just not looking in the right area

I never set mine but it must be automatically set at about $25 as I had a few times it wasn't more than that and it was held over till next time.
