Can you believe it: Zimbabwe Runoff

5 weeks for the results to be released. When they are released they're complete bullshit. This is not fair. Zimbabwe have spoken and a Re-Run should not take place no matter what the results say. There is no way Mugabe got 49.7% of the vote.

I think it's a real shame the MDC have not been announced outright winners and if the MDC do not comply with the run off then Mugabe will be restored as the President.

What a joke! Morgan Tsvangirai is the President!

It seems like Mugabe is giving the people a second chance to vote the "right way." While he was holding the results away from the public, he was also moving in military loyalists to replace local police & elections workers. He's made it pretty clear I think that he's willing to use violence to stay in power...

Sort of shows that even in a system with democratic elections, all political power fundamentally comes from violence or the implied threat of physical force.

I can't see how any second presidential election would ever be fair...

Times up for Mugabe... the clock is ticking...

Congrats on your thousand posts. I just think it's so unfair that the people of Zimbabwe suffer because of several people behind Mugabe refuse to let go of the power. That's what it comes down to.

Can you imagine if George Bush refused to step down from power (I suppose you could say this happened around 5 years ago!), yes he would be ousted but it doesn't work like that in Zimbabwe.

Now you know how the rest of the world felt when Bush got in for a second term in 2004. Electoral fraud is rife the world over.
