If a "legit" company like Australian Rugby team use a spam service (yes it happened) and kept posting on your sites can you actually ask them for damage in an email? They probably not pay but would it be legal to do it. A normal legit company probably make sure it not happen again but many of them use these SEO services that use BAD service that maybe they do not know about.

I spend loads of time to block bad boots from China i really tired of these legit website like Australian Rugby team use SEO service that keep spam my sites.

How would a email like that look like?

I'd suggest you to sue them

What are you wanting to do: stop the spam or start a lawsuit?
If they are a legit company they will probably remove you from their mailing list if you ask them in writing.

Send them an invoice for the time you have had to spend cleaning up the mess from their bots. Better than a legal demand and it might actually get them to stop what they are doing.

I would toss it in the trash if I got something like that. It would be the same as you sending an invoice for every post you had to spend time moderating here on DP. It seems like it would just waste more of your time - same with the OP.

As to his question - of course you can ask for money, but it seems unlikely anyone would give it to you. (Of course I often underestimate peoples' stupidity.)

You need to be careful not to make certain kinds of threats on things you will do if they do not pay. That can easily cross the line into extortion which would turn out badly. (For example, it is illegal to demand money in exchange for not turning someone into the authorities. In the US, that is illegal extortion.)

illegal spam is email by definition and you can go after them for that. Posting on your site is commonly called spam, but there's no law against it.

Have you tried phoning them? Skype calls are so cheap that its probably worth your while... especially if you consider what you could be earning if you weren't cleaning up their spam.

I checked some website in the UK and he won 300 UK Pounds and in the state of Virginia it is 10 USD per email / spam. Now what is spam? An email spam is pretty clear but if you have a forum, classfield, directory or blog i think you need to make VERY clear in your terms that if you for example post anything not Thailand related in my Thai website we consider this spam according to these rules 1 2 3 4 .. We charge 50 USD per spam and by joining anc clicking Yes i agree to your terms bla bla bla.

Sure they Chinese fake watch makers wont pay you but i am sure people who hire SEO firms in India and Pakistan that is legit would and yes sarahk that email need to be very careful but i am so SICK of these spam people wasting my time.
