can you add adsense to custom search result pages?

e.g:
(1) site search result page.
(2) custom google search result page.

I'm pretty certain that Google used to permit one link unit on the search results pages (mainly because a couple of my sites do this and I remember checking) but reading the help files today it seems this policy has changed and you're now no longer allowed to display any other ads:

I don't know if this really is a recent change or whether I just mis-read the policies but it seems the answer is 'no' now, whatever.
