    Yahoo suffers from inept management sadly. They rely on their success in Eastern markets mostly. They'd need a bold new vision, a reformed engine and especially interface, and a smart marketing campaign. I don't see that happening, however.

    Currently Google is way better than yahoo. But guys give it some time. Its not that far when Yahoo will overcome google.

    google has the better name remember that! but yahoo used to be more popular right up until around 2005 I think. We'll see maybe the world will get bored of google but I doubt it

    Google is way more organized than Yahoo... this alone right now makes it harder for Yahoo to win. Sure, Yahoo has some good points like YA etc, but for the most part those won't beat all the things google has.

    I wished for a long time Yahoo would at least try and maintain it's presence but sadly when they sold themselves to Bing(microsoft) they kinda said I can't hack it.

    With that said I really wish Bing would provide some useful tools or insight to web presence then google.

    As it stands google has the tools, recognition and where with all to dominate unless Congress after their hearing decides they are to big.

    Now Google is giant, that have vast popularity. It is most used search engine, and their popularity also increasing day to day. So i think there is no possibility to yahoo overcome Google.

    this will be a very tough task. Even with the alliance of Yahoo and Bing the name Google is embedded in the minds of 8 out of every 10 people worldwide. There still needs to be much work done to ever over take Google.

    It all depends on what you're marketing. If you know the right niche, yahoo is actually better than google in a sense of competition and earnings :)
