    hi there..

i'm seeing a pretty strange trend for one of my
    ads's CTR.

    here's how it's going

    Date | Clicks | Impressions | CTR

    sep 21 | 1 | 354 | 0.28%
    sep 22 | 13 | 2,025 | 0.64%
    sep 23 | 3 | 263 | 1.14%
    sep 24 | 4 | 872 | 0.45%
    sep 25 | 12 | 1,370 | 0.87%
    sep 26 | 12 | 2,166 | 0.55%
    sep 27 | 8 | 2,036 | 0.39%
    sep 28 | 18 | 5,040 | 0.35%
    sep 29 | 42 | 18,760 | 0.22%
    sep 30 | 45 | 20,430 | 0.22%

    sure the clicks are increasing.
but the CTR is dropping like crazy!

from 1.14% on the best day to 0.22% now.

do you have any idea what's happening here??

    thanks a ton!

    Craig.

Well, do you know what is CTR?

    It is click through rate.

    It is calculated by

    CTR = clicks/impression x 100%

tx.. but of course I know that..

    the point is..
why didn't the CTR stay the same as
    the impressions increased?

forget the clicks column for minute..
n just see the impressions n CTR column

doesn't it look strange that as the impressions
    increased.. the CTR decreased.

(you know if an ad is getting 1 click in 100 impressions
it should get 100 clicks in 10,000 impressions
the CTR stays the same .. ainnit?!)

    never happend with me before!

hope someone can show me the light here..

    thanx!

well, again it depends on the several factors:

How well is ads is served?

How well is the blending of your ads?

How well does the ads attract the users to click on it?

Ass soon your impressions increase, they are statistically more precised.

is like you see something like this:

    Date | Clicks | Impressions | CTR

    sep 01 | 1 | 1 | 100.00%

oh, very good CTR = 100%, but statistically only 1 impression is not good enough for that.

    thanx guys..

but i figured this out myself..

actually the ad was approved for adsense sites
    a couple of days later

that's why the CTR was good in the start (when it was only on search)
but we all know CTR on context ads is a lot lower.

that's it effected the whole CTR

    thanx anyways!
