Can wordpress be used as a static content site?

    When I'm building a site from scratch, I'm always worrying about SEO. Can I just use Wordpress for building a content site?

    yes why not ? wordpress is a CMS, which mean you can manage your content easier this way ...

    Yes I do. I currently run a site with a bit more than a thousand hits per day using WordPress. WordPress is very effective.
