i hev been using XP and 98 at the same time, but i think now i'm fed up of it and i want soem changes. i want XP and LINUX at the same time in my system. Can i do that?? will it effect my sytem speed or not??
yes u can...but what is ure system specs... because if u want to run a desktop style linux like ubuntu or fedora..then u need more HD and RAM. using Grub u can have both linux and windows on ure system..its not that easy..but not that difficult too.. but you must know about linux partition schemes like swap,ext2fs etc etc..
Are you asking if you can dual boot XP and Linux? If so yes. I believe you should install XP first and then Linux. It shouldn't affect your system speed at all. When you're running one of them the other is just using hard drive space. So unless it fills up your hard drive you should be ok!
Dual boot installation is fairly straight forward now adays. I would say the most difficult part is which distro you want to use. There are lot of excellent Linux packages out there now. I am currently using Kubuntu and Freespire.
