Hi friends.. I am totally new here. Nice to see good site here.. IconArcive.. it is site from where we can download icons.. Can we use the icons from this site on our site for free.. I hope this will not create any copyright issue. I am just confused about this thing.
I suggest you go and read their TOS http://www.iconarchive.com/terms.html Code (markup): The TOS should contain the answer to your question (hopefully )
Actually I read them but don't got info about downloading icons.. I thought I can get the answer from here.. No problem hope someone else give it. Thanks.
why dont you use print screen button, past it on your paintbrush and then... cut one by one and save as .ico file... what do you say?
You really need to be spoonfed, huh? I picked an icon set at random: http://www.iconarchive.com/show/blueprint-icons-by-double-j-design.html It clearly shows the licence and gives a link to the explanation of that particular licence: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ I doubt they could make it any easier.
Thanks.. Can you please tell me what is the meaning of 'Commercial use :Allowed' Is it means that we can use it on our site for free.
Commercial mean a company/website that makes money. Allowed means you can. You can use and logo with that ony your site
Check this website. http://www.iconfinder.com/ This has no issue with copy rights......! Because there are so many online chart designing tool use this website APIs to search the icons and use it for their chart. So whatever the icons comes from this site has no copy rights issue.
There's a world of difference between a site having no issue with copyright, and the end user being able to use them. If you use stolen content on your site it is still stolen and you are still open to any legal action that the copyright holder may wish to bring. Better hope it's not Getty!
