Hello, I want to start my online business properly and I want to have an identity online but I don't want to use my real personal information.I have got a name, a domain and I want to have a picture on my blog (not my real picture). Is there anyway I can get a picture of someone else to show as me to increase my credibility ? Is it ok to use stock photo, or do you think can I pay someone for using his photo ? Or can I ask someone to photoshop and create a new face ? Please give me some suggestion, thanks.

I'm pretty sure if you buy stock photography from one of the major companies you own the rights to do what you please with it. It's like those advertisements with a woman named "Claire". That's not really Claire.

Just make sure to read and re-read the terms and conditions before you do it. Ask questions if required.

If you are getting from a free Stock site.. you might be out of luck though.

thanks, but I still have doubt, can I really use the stock photo ? Like, do people give their photo just for few bucks ? Am I not doing identity theft like this.I want to use the pick on my blog, squidoo lenses, facebook etc.

If anyone knows, please help me.I don't want to be caught of doing illegal things and end up in jail.

    Thanks.

You can use any photo you purchase from places like istockphoto.com.

How do you plan to increase your credibility if you start with a lie ??

Either put your own photo on your site or don't put a photo at all but don't try and fool people.

You certainly CAN do this. Quite a few people see it as a bit deceptive, though. Just so you know.

Big stock photo sites get model release for the photos. So you can use them. Istockphoto is a good site to het the photo. They have the paperworks done properly.
