    Hi there,

I want to know that can we use the "Meta Description text" from the first paragraph of the page.

    1. Will it considered duplicate text.?
    2. Can this website penalized by Google or Yahoo?
    3. Can it generate any problem in the SEO?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Regards

it is not good for SEO. Try to make the tag different from each others.

You should write your own unique meta description instead of scrape from first paragraph on your contents. :) What will search engines do when they see 2 similar paragraph in both meta descriptions and content? You guess ;)

There is no effect if you use this method, actually sometimes the first sentance is the best description of your on-page content. Meta elements are not considered content on the page, it is information provided outside the HTML documents content.

Meta.. the information of information. Like ssandecki said, it wouldn't hurt you.

I do it all the time. I have plenty of keywords for several products on the first page of Google.

    Spiders aren't that stupid.
