Good day ! For example I have a website and for example unique 10 articles regarding my content. As I know after Panda & Penguin it is strictly prohibited to use anchors in text with keywords. So, what do you think about this ? Because this is a great way to grow up in google top with keywords in anchor. Will Penguin filter me if I will post all my 10 articles (for example) to different sources with keywords in anchor links ? If yes (this is how I think) for what articles is needed at the end ? My be articles should be posted and at the end of each article must be added something like: "Thanks domain.com for this article." I think this is interesting subject to discuss. Post your answers and questions. Let`s find correct solution for article marketing. Also if you can - please post your researches regarding this subject.
According to Matt Cutt's saying the anchor text in a backlink should look natural, eg. "$1000 off buy now" is not a good example of backlink and "this article may help" is a good example. One more thing is that anchor text must vary if it's one and the same your position in Google may suffered
Okay, but how google recognizing is anchor text in a backlink look "naturally" or not.. Because google spider bot is fully automatic.. May be there are some filter on anchor text based on common words ? Or may be anchor text must be unique ? May be anchor text is the same thing as content, which can be checked at copyscape.com ? Any opinions about how google filter "good" and "bad" anchor text ?
According to Google, the ideal anchor text is "editorially given". In other words, the anchor text is written by another site owner, not you. If all of your anchor text links include your targeted keyword, it most likely was written by you. Organic anchor text like "Visit the site" to read the full details.
Thanks trafficweb ! It`s interesting. How do you think does google has a dictionary of organic anchors ?
How can we rank for our desired keyword if using anchor text such as "visit this link", "more info here", etc...do they follow those social link and recognize our keyword on site?
Google's database shows that about 50% of all anchors are the URL or domain name. That's the basic they use to define what is natural. Another 30% uses generic text like click here and the rest uses KWs (of cause varying, if natural). To answer the question "how can we rank for our KWs" - it's not all about anchors! If your URL is used Google values your meta title and text on page to define the ranking improvements. "buy rc toys" n
e I'm sure that even Google guys will not answer this question, for my opinion Google Panda and Penguin are more looks like viruses
Here's how I handle it. In my copyright page (which is linked to from all my pages) I post this linking suggestion: "Linking to us: If you find a specific page helpful, you are welcome to post a link to it from your website, using for the link text whatever words you think are most descriptive." [underlining mine here for emphasis] That encourages a wide variety of anchor texts, all controlled by the other webmaster, not by me. On internal links within my website, I try to use a wide variety of text for the anchor text.
I don't think they mean you can never use your targeted keyword as anchor text. What they really mean is that someone else should be creating the anchor text in an effort to link back to you. The of "organic link building" as link building that is not done by you. Since this doesn't always happen as quickly as we would like, the next step is to make the anchor links look less self-serving. Also remember that your keywords and keyword phrases (primary, secondary, synonyms) should pretty much appear throughout your site and content. Google will generally follow any link that does not have the "nofollow" attribute set. Regardless of what the anchor text says, the real work for the spider starts when it implements various signals to analyze your site structure and content. As marketers we tend to get a little my-optic and forget that while self-implemented link building is the norm, it's not the the ideal situation. It's like an actor/acrtess reviewing their own performance and urging others to agree and give them the same review as they give themselves. Compare that to getting spontaneous rave reviews for a stellar performance.
If it was me then I would have gone for the domain name link, I want to be prepared for the next big update. As they have recognized keywords in anchor text, some day they will start to punish the generic linking keywords as well (they already know that we're mixing it up). To be on the safe side, only if you have an authority site and your domain is not an EMD, then go for a plain domain link like this one www.example.com. In my opinion, don't even use any anchor text, never. For the ranking facts, I don't think that it's gonna matter which keywords do you link from as they have a lot other signals to rank your page. Social signals are strong, I have seen posts ranking, with no backlinks and no anchor text, only social shares. Video links are doing good as well, using more than one video link works better. After all contents are going to make you stand strong in the crowd. Rankings as well.
using same keyword is also consider as spam , changing anchor text is good know how to do backlink and good backlinking strategy
Links will always be placed with keywords of one kind or another. It's the way people naturally make links - so Google can't ignore them. I'd just be careful to avoid using them with the purpose of making a certain page rank for a term. Vary the text in your links as much as possible and avoid repetition. To be really cautious and still try promote something you can always place the link in context by surrounding it with keywords. For example if I wanted to make Google.com rank for the term 'Search' I might write: " Google are a great search engine. To find what you want on the web click here and start your search today. "
You can still use your keywords on your anchor text, but you need to use variations of the keyword, instead of using the same keyword as anchor text each time. If you are submitting 10 articles for backlinks, then the anchor text on each of those articles should be a variation of the target keyword. Hope that helps. Have a good day!
Yes, We can but never use single keyword as your anchor text. e.g. if your targeted keyword is how to design effective website, then you should use multiple terms for this like - Tips to design a effective website, how to design website, website designing process and so on. This will help you to boost your rankings in effective way.
abishxq, you have asked the most relevant question out of all the post. I read this page and laughed. To actually imply to NOT use keywords in your anchor text is absolutely misleading and foolish. Why the hell would you not use keywords. I will not do what everyone else on this page has done and give answers without references. Firstly, can we all say spam! How do you think major sites crashed in the SERP after the penguin update? Because most of their ANCHOR TEXT had generic text or spammy text like click here or they used the same keyword excessively. This is the first piece of reference to convince you to NOT use generic text in your anchor text. The second reason you NEED to use keyword variants in your anchor text is to rank for the keyword. Duh. You get better ranking based off of three major factors: external backlinks, impressions, and clicks. not content..content just gets you noticed by the google bots to convince them your webpage has relevance resulting in page rank and indexing. The more people you know and the more those people want to visit your site the better your site will do in the serp. Which means if 1000 websites have anchor text linking back to my site based off a keyword I will do far better than jo smow who only has 500 links and half the traffic. If you want to avoid spam do not use generic links use keyword variants and keyword phrases but under no circumstances should you avoid using keyword variants in your anchor text. The point to mastering serp is to first get indexed based off of your content. Second step is to get as many anchor text/phrases on as many external websites as you can then reindex those websites which have your new anchor text so google can see the new anchor text. Thirdly, push traffic through the anchor text/phrases. MOST IMPORTANTLY! HOW MANY ANCHOR TEX/PHRASES DO YOU HAVE AND HOW MUCH TRAFFIC IS GOING THROUGH THE ANCHOR TEXT/PHRASES. Remember there are 2 phases to SERP: Indexing links, and ranking links (based off of how many different site have same link and the amount of traffic going through links.) Google does not care if you have a zillion backlinks if you do not have any traffic going thru the backlinks. Matter of fact if the pages where your backlinks are do not receive an adequate amount of traffic they will fall out of the search index altogether. The more unique and detailed the content, the more backlinks with anchor text/phrases you have, and the more traffic you have following those anchor text/phrases = High SERP Validation: go to google, type in search: linksyour competitor site.com), then research the websites which populate. You will notice two major things only 1 site, per anchor text/phrase, per domain, and keyword variants tied to each link not generic keywords..lol. If you pull up their traffic reports you will also notice the sites on the first page are getting far more traffic than the sites on the second and third page of the search engine. This is not by coincidence. One more thing for the newbies when you visits forums which talk about how to make money in some way shape or form just remember noone is going to give you the recipe for success in its entirety so take each suggestion with a grain of salt even mine.
