hi guys I wanted to know whether I can place the cj links in my signature in forums ? is it legal or what ?
I think you could run into problems with that. To be safe, I would provide links to landing pages or your web site in the signature, but not directly to the affiliate offer or product. hanji
thank you guys for the help .. I think I would better create a landing page and then put a link in my signature
I thought affiliate links were against TOS, not sure if there are any exceptions but maybe you should check in the suggestions / feedback section to be sure
well actually acording to this thread - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=368679 - it is acceptable in your signature only - so go ahead and post it there and good luck with it cheers
I contacted one of my CJ advertisers directly and they said I were allowed to place their link anywhere (within reason)
I don't know about it being legal or not, but you'd really be better off linking to your own sites rather than directly to an affiliate product, that way you get the SEO benefit along with the (slim) chance of someone buying through your link. If you presell whatever is you want to sell you'll have a better shot at someone actually buying it as well.
as I recall, you just need to check with the tos of the individual merchant who's aff link you are going to use. It should say within those terms whether you can place them on other websites. Some merchants only give permission for aff. to use their aff links on websites they own, some also allow ppc, and strategic placement. What will get you in trouble with many merchants is blatently placing their links in forum posts (spamming). Signatures on the other hand should be ok, just make sure they allow you to put links on other websites in the first place. They have a rep to worry about, just don't make their links look like spam and you should be safe in most cases.
In CJ's terms it says you can't put links on sites that you don't own. It could come back to bite you if you get too many sales. Then they won't want to pay you.
