    Yes, you can add nofollow.
    Yes, you can remove the 1px tracking image.
    Yes, you can make the links valid.

    Re changing banner/ad images - a better idea would be to use a custom destination link or generic 'home page'/text link if you want to use your own image.
    Check the advertiser's terms, some of them are idiots and won't let you use their logos or trademarks to promote them.
