It has been a while since I have been on DP but feels good to be back. I am currently building a website which will be my online portfolio of houses I have designed. I thought it would be a neat idea to put all of the websites writing into ALLCAPS because it is a standard in architecture to write notes, titles, etc in capital letters. It is a neat idea, but if I do this will it have an effect on my SEO for my website or even an effect of the people who are visiting my website? Just wanted your answers and opinions before I follow through with this idea. Cheers
As far as I know, it doesn't have any effect of the SEO, but all caps is definitely an eyesore and exudes rudeness or "shouting" so it will probably have a negative effect on the visitors.
I would never get through one article if the whole site is in uppercase. I probably would just exit without even taking a second look. Its really annoying in facebook and I doubt it would be less annoying in a site. I wouldn't do that.
All caps doesn't affect seo ..only your traffic.You could test for 1 week with caps on and another with caps off and go from there....
Think about it this way: I know it is standard in Architecture to write in all caps, but is everyone visiting your site going to be an Architect? For those that visit your site that are not, this is going to be extremely off putting and difficult to read. Which will result in an incredibly high bounce rate. Could you just have the specific details/stats about the house in caps perhaps?
In my expierence it's irrrelavant to SEO but like people are saying it dont look too pretty. Best luck mate
Maybe if it fits the theme of your website. But I wouldn't suggest using all CAPS on a large amount of text, nobody will want to read it.

Depends, some web themes look good with all caps. But how it affects your site in terms of search algorithm is uncertain.
How long you can read an article written in all caps? I even not two sentences. Giving up that idea of using all caps is brilliant. I never found a site containing all caps!
Not sure if it makes a difference for SEO, but as a reader, I don't like reading a lot of things in caps. I have seen some websites / blogs using all caps for just the title of the post to make it stand out, but that's about it.
Its not going to make a difference in terms of seo... but if your site gets manually reviewed then you may be in trouble.

It is just getting started but I put my first concept up on there. It is in my signature if you want to check it out. It is a sign I should do it in lowercase.
