Hi I m confused regarding redirection so pls help me question is - if i have a domain X and i m redirecting this to Y , Now i m doing bookmarking and directory submission for X . So my question is , is the backlinks of X are the backlinks of Y too . ....? or 301 redirection is only for redirectiing the traffic only......................?
Yes the backlinks of X are the backlinks of Y, providing you keep the 301 redirect on X to Y. It is much better to build links to Y however, just in case. And makes sure you report your redirect through google webmaster tools as well.
