Can Twitter be used effectively to build links?

    The one flaw I have noticed on platforms like Twitter is their inability to attract links. I have struggled with connecting and linking up with users through this website. Can Twitter and other social media sites be used for effective link building?

    I don't think it is very usefull for direct link building to your website.

    Google recently announced that they are taking into account link sharing of sites on social media sites, so it def would not hurt to have lots of twitter accounts (real accounts, not fake, as there are ways to catch these accounts) sharing your websites links.
