Jury is out on that one. Good for branding but haven't seen too many sales from it.

Facebppk is good to promote your business . but twitter I don't think how many got success from twitter as today there are many spammers using twitters . Instead of twitter I have you may try eZdia which may help you to promote your business.

Facebook is more for attraction marketing and most members are promoting a business so its hard to make a sale there.

Facebook and twitter are now use for branding. And I think it really helps to get notice online because twitter and facebook is the most known social networking now.

This really depends on the industry you are in and the people you group or place yourself in. I am trying the Social media's thing as it goes.

    Hello,

Social Networking is play vital role to promote business in search engines, but thing is that you must be professional in twitter and in face book instead of doing normal stuff by face book or twitter.

Facebook: Make a group, invite friends, then on the news feed on the right side it shows the top groups that friends have joined. Make the group name your domain. It will be spread across Facebook. You must have a good domain for this to work.

Twitter: I know many hacking sites use twitter to use news like when the site is under attack from DDOS explains why the site is down, ect. HackForums.net does this.

They can be if you use them in right way. But no immediate success i think. You have to work hard on it.

Twitter is time-consuming: you have to be at it all day - I've seen people who are obsessed with it. I've seen people who use it brilliantly, though. Takes hard work, but it pays off well.

Twitter is easy. But I got some traffic with 4000 followers, but pity no sales...may be a couple of adsense clicks :(

Isnt it hard to know if twitter is bringing in traffic that lead to sales? I will sometimes read the twits of people that are following people I follow. I also click links that those people post. If I'm just using the twitter site directly you can know I came from twitter that time, but many people use external clients to read twits and when they go to your site that way you just wouldnt know how they got to your site.

I think twitter is good for making sure people know you're alive. Sometimes hiding behind sites that dont get updated daily can make you a fading memory. When you stay in people's minds regularly, they are inclined to think of you in times of need that you may be good at filling.

The answer to your question: yes!
It depends on what you're promoting/selling, but if you use both correctly, you can get the visits you're after. On one site I have I'm regularly retweeted and tweeted about on Twitter because I post decent content and also interact fairly often.
As with Facebook you have to interact, but I've noticed it's more about creating a "buzz" if you want lots of fans and friends on Facebook, especially if you're trying to sell a product.

I promote two of my websites on Twitter and do make money. One of my websites is a Twitter Products Site it does rather well. The other Twitter promoted site is CPA E-Books. It does 1-3 sales a month. The Niche your in is the key. Hot Niches do well no matter were they are promoted.
