Can Third Party File Manager be used for Specific Folders?

I am using Windows 7 and it keeps auto sorting files in my folders.

Which third party File Manager can I specifically use only for certain folders? Or will it apply to all folders upon installation?

A third-party file manager, like Total Commander is a program you have to start manually. It doesn't replace Windows Explorer.

This means you can use Windows Explorer for certain folders, and use a third party file manager for other folders.

    Does this answer you question?

Are you familiar with Cubic Explorer?

Does it also start manually? How does it compare with Total Commander?

It looks like it runs as a seperate application, just like total commander. So I'd say, give it a try! :)

Why in the world don't you just specify the correct sorting for the folders you want sorted differently in Windows Explorer? No need to install third-party programs for... I dunno. Something that sounds quite stupid to begin with.

Besides, quite a few of the third-party solutions replaces Windows Explorer as the file-explorer (or you can specify this in the settings).

Windows File Manager has no option to prevent auto-sorting.

Well, you'll normally want SOME kind of sorting. Whether it be name, time, type, date, whatever. There's always gonna be some sort of sorting.

I want to move files to whatever location in the folder I wish. I want to arrange them myself like the way I do it on desktop.

*headdesk* In the name of all that is holy... why? Or, nevermind, I don't even wanna know. "Location" in a folder? A folder is a list of files - it's not a desktop environment. Sometimes...

Well I just like to move things around in a folder to form art patterns. It's hard to fathom for some.
