    Hi!

Do the PR from a site can drop from 3 to 0 or even to n/a?
I just wondered because i've bought some high pr sites and when i put bans on them they are pr n/a. Does that restore? Thanks! :D

If they were dropped domains, then PR usually drops after the next update.

If they were sites, the previous owner may have sold links, and was penalized.

There can be many reasons for a PR drop like that. The two mentioned above are the most common. However, people often times buy links to boost the PR then sell the site. When those links expire, the site will lose the PR and it will dramatically drop. There are other times that PR3 was obtained by getting a large link such as PR7-8. If for some reason that link's site was penalized by Google, the link loses its value.

It is very possible to lose PR for other reasons that are only known to Google also.

yes, the PR can drop from 3 to 0 if you get penalized by google. This will happen if you sell link or get paid to post in blog

    hehhe ...
The PR can even drop from PR8 to PR0 , especially with penalizations .
If it is a natural drop so it will depend on how many links & quality did you lost before the last update

Yes possible if penalized by Google. Restore possible if make things fine again and wait. Clear all dirt from your website and then resubmit to Google.

if the content from the site changed completely and if it was a dropped domain the chance that it looses it's PR is maximum.

Another reason might be all the sites linking to yours belong to the previous sellers. He/she removed the links and your site is the victim.

Hasn't google really lightened up on the penalties for link selling and paid reviews?

It is possible due to some reason:
    - penalized by Google
    - domain parked for a long time
    - dropped domain nobody care
    - no strong backlinks anymore
    - frequently ip changes
    - etc

If your website gets it's PR from just one website and that site were to remove your link or lose it's own PR then "yes", you could easily drop from a PR3 to a PR0.

The most probable reason for dropping down to 0 would be a penalty from Google.
