    getting backlinks from directory sites is always a great idea but one need to be cautious while building links. Try to make is as natural as it can be. If you collects too many backlinks within a short span of time then it can inturn harm you as a spam.

    Submission of directories in SEO is good one. Because this basic work in the SEO and without this you are not able to achieve your aim.

    Directory submission harm seo.. No way at all...
    It helps you a lot. Use 5-6 different anchor text .....

    I agree with you. Also, I wouldn't say it will harm your SEO but nowdays they are considered to be link farms and google is not very fond of those. It is hard to find a quality directory. Another thing, make sure you stay away from any auto submit programs! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who's serious about their SEO.

    Think of your site as a tree, links as a root and dir as soil
    Now all of this things are weight upon the big Q quality of tree,roots and soil.
    Its always good to have a back link from many directory.
    There are few things to keep on mind before you submit
    1# Select the right directory
    What do i mean by that?
    - Check if the directory is the right on for your site
    - check alexa on that dir, So, you will have a basic idea about the dir

    2# When submitting for directories use different keywords for different dir submission
    This will help you to climb the stair on seo

    # Dont pay for dir submission unless it worth it (pr #7 + )

    If you focus on the high quality directories it won't hurt and should help. But if you suddenly get loads of links from PR0 directories, then it may hurt. It doesn't look natural. I hear it's best to only have 10% of incoming links from directories. Just my 2 cents.

    No. Directory Submission could help, but not that much.
    Some say it can harm because maybe, they are not getting benefits from it.
