Well the question is simple just like it says on titile... could the subdomain or an internal page get high google pagerank than the domain name itself???
Of course it can. PageRank is calculated on a page-by-page basis. If you have an internal page or a subdomain that gets more/better PR links, it definitely can have a higher PR than the homepage. This situation is tough to create with a solid link profile though, because you usually get more homepage links naturally through things like directory submissions and user profiles.
yes...i agree with Vansterdam and it is really tough to create such a situation wherein the internal pages or sub-domains get quality backlinks. but i have come across a site whose Home Page PR is 0 and Contact Us page PR is 4. i am utterly confused to see it as there aren;t any visible quality backlinks to the contact page. i am posting the URLs here. please try to analyze it and give some insight into it. http://www.niperraebareli.org/index.php http://www.niperraebareli.org/contact_us.html
Yes.. why not, It's depend on you if you are promoting ur internal pages then it will get high PR compare to ur home page....
Yes.. Subdomain or internal pages can have more page rank than domain name.. PR depends on the number of backlinks!
Yes and I think you will find it most common with blogging. When someone writes an outstanding blog post that is extremely helpful and happens to get a ton of links towards it usually it will jump above the main address of the blog.
yes it happens some times, i have seen these types of issues, but not more, if your page quality score is more 's than your index page, and you have worked for deep links, more than domain link, than it's possible.
