I'll boil it down into simple words. What it entails is someone writes an article on a topic you agree to and you publish it on your blog. They will write the entire post themselves, although you can offer them a topic to write about if you so wish. Normally you will allow them to put in a link or two to their site as a thank you for writing the article for your blog. You do not need a plugin. They can send it to you and you publish it under your admin account or you can create a posting account for them and they can submit the article that way for you to approve. Before you publish a guest post I'd suggest using something like Copyscape to make sure the guy hasn't stolen the post. Sadly it does happen. I hope this makes some sense.
