Well your writing skills and your english aren't that bad (I've seen some living horror stories out there).

I believe you should start a blog and post there about anything you like in order to gain more writing experience and learn more about the english language. Once you've improved your writing skills then you can go article writing/selling.

    Hi Gigado, :)

No matter what you want to learn how to write about -- what is just as important as writing is READING (not yelling, just emphasizing for importance). Bill Clinton once said "Readers are leaders" and he is right. Being someone who reads can make you an expert in your field. It will give you knowledge and increase your vocabulary. You will also learn a lot about different types of writing styles. Different industries want people to write in different ways. An article for a wrestling magazine is going to be written in a much different style than an article for say, a genealogy magazine. :) So learn about the market you want to write for and read the magazines or what those people you want to write for would read.

Keeping a journal (personal, not a blog) and getting your thoughts out on paper is also VERY helpful. Not every thought you have should be broadcast onto the World Wide Web. But some of your thoughts will be deep and profound and you'll want to go back over them. Some of your thoughts may even be silly or funny. But the more you connect with your writing, the stronger your writing "voice" will become and the more confident you'll become. :)

I agree with other DPs that suggest you start a blog -- why not start a blog about a favorite hobby? Have a topic or a main subject always in focus, not just random thought that just pop up. www.problogger.net is a good website to learn about blogging.

There are some great questions in here answered about writing, last week I asked about how to write sales pages and got some wonderful responses. Someone else last week asked about being a copywriter and got back some wonderful responses too. So simply reading some of the older posts may give you helpful information.

Not all writing is about getting published. A lot of writing when you start out can be about practice. But having passion for writing -- in my opinion that is the most important thing because that passion will drive you to work harder and to learn all that you need to. Good luck!

    :) Abby

Some very good points listed here and I agree with them. I think no matter how experienced a writer you are, you have to take time out to plan what you're writing about, before you write it. I learnt that doing a journalism course. So plan what you're going to write about, it will help you join the dots better. All the best with the writing.

I agree that your writing is far from the worst that can be found around here. However, if your primary goal is being published by the better directories I would suggest to start with your writing. There are many places you can do this for free. For example, the first one I see when I google "free grammar lessons" is http://www.grammar-monster.com/

Write everyday; it doesn't matter what it is. Also, a point already made is to read, read, and read. You will expand your vocabulary and writing skills, among many other benefits!
