Can someone suggest a host?

Not sure if this is in the right spot...

I want to start another site but am not super pleased with any of my current hosts so am up for suggestions! I'm thinking of running Wordpress so if someone could recommend one of the hosts they do automatic installs on it would be handy. Otherwise any other hosts that are about $7/month. I don't need a lot of space but would like one with the ability to set up a forum. Actually, if someone can recommend a forum to install that'd be handy too!

Thanks... I'm new to all this stuff!

One of the most reliable and often used by DP members with great results is www.asmallorange.com

They have excellent customer service (their strong point) and very good prices.

I didn't realize they were sold out (Although travoholic could go with the most basic plan)

travoholic - If you end up going with asmallorange I can help you out and install Wordpress 2.1 for free. Just let me know (I could probably do it if you go with another host although its not guaranteed)

    Cheers

I'm still very happy with Site5.com - I host about 15 domains with them. :)

I just read a recent post on their forum and it sounds like they are going to have servers available in April (new datacenter)

I use ANNO.com and I am VERY happy with them. Not the cheapest but I was new to this whole hosting thing and didn't know what to look for. But the customer service is THE BEST I have ever received anywhere for anything. They must have about 100 guys called Stephen working there, because I will send in a request, and he replies very quickly with as much info as I could possibly need.

    another vote for asmallorange here.

As for forum, you can either opt for phpbb (free) or vbulletin (paid)

    Good luck!

I just opened an account with site5 and am please so far with their customer service and professional setup. I would recommend against hostgator.com, they suck.

I had a quick look around and decided on Powweb as they had a 2 months free, no setup fee, and free domain name deal and are in my monthly price range. The auto setup things for forums and stuff also convinced me. Their forum seems really lively and informative too so we'll see how it goes!

    Thanks for your help,
    Kirsty

I think most web host offer some scripts which can be installed automatically. I suggest carefully read their hosting plans and you will probably find what you are looking for :)
