My pc has started having problem with saving images.
it as fine before i re installed windows xp pro sp2 .
the problem is.. when i save an image , it saves it as a darker colour..
but when i open that image in photoshop or paint.net , it shows the correct colour.but when i take a screenshot of my desktop , it shows the dark image on paint.net/photoshop,
    look at my pictures :

    Real image : colour code : 1e1e1e

when saved with paint.net or photoshop : colour code : same

now as you can see both images are same , i just replaced the pink colour with green , but if u will see them closely , their colour will be different..
the green one will be darker..ie . colour code will be 1d1d1d or something like that.
but if u will open it with photoshop , u will find that colours are same..
    now look at this screenshot.

can someone please tell me whats the problem??

Maybe it has something to do with your channels or color settings in Photoshop?

Try saving as a gif or jpg.

ok i tried the website for calibration , i tried adobe gamma too..
but still my colours are not same for saved files.

edited : okay wait.. let me try saving in gif format.. ok it worked..but still i need png format becuz gif is making the file size 1 kb.. while png is 150 bytes ..

    PS :
hhhh this is not adobe's bug , it occurs with MS paint and Paint.net too

Sorry I forgot about this thread. Here's some possible solutions, though I haven't tried them out:
