Can someone recomend good hosting company?

I recently got letter from Lunarpages (my hosting comapny) that I have been using up lot of their resources (memory and cpu, but not a bandwith) on a shared server. We have their basic plan with Lunarpages and I am paying $7.95 a month.
We have between 1000-1200 visitors a day so I think we might've outgrown basic plan (but I am not sure)
Next step is to pay $39.95 for their virtual private server which would accommodate 1200 visitors a day and more but that seems a bit pricey to me.
Does anyone here knows about any other hosting company that is reliable and will accommodate more then 1200 visitors a day.
    Our website is mskcases.com
No videos or heavy downloads. Just browsing articles and looking at the medical pictures, so it is not bandwidth hungry website.

PHPWS and cPanel is a must.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

Yeah, you've outgrown the budget host...

Most important, rather than visitors, is pageviews and bandwidth per monthas well as concurrent visitors.
    Also, what is your budget?

I am in the same situation right now with lunarpages. I am on their temporary server now. May be they might have asked u to reduce ur php usage. Even i wanted to move to vps hosting, but after a little search in their forums, i found that, websites which are taking more than 5 % of memory usage in their shared hosting service, are not recommended to choose vps hosting, as that one too may not be able to handle it. And dedicated hosting is recommended for such sites. If u dont want to upgrade, convert all ur php files to html or optimize them and databases, and it will solve ur problem. If u find any good hosting service, which donot have restrictions for cpu usage, let me know too. As i am also looking for such service.

Your site is based on phpWS as you said, which requires php and database processing to show the pages...and if I'm not mistaken, phpWS puts some load on the box if you have many concurrent visitors.

I'm not sure of your technical knowledge, but did you look if any sort of caching modules are available for it? It can drastically reduce CPU and memory usage.

Also, I'd suggest a budget VPS for you...cPanel isn't mandatory. You have phpWS installed, so just moving over the files and DB is good enough. You can get a nice 256MB (512MB burst) VPS with great LxAdmin control panel for cheap at cheapvps.co.uk :)

I run 5 cron jobs each minute and get 1000-5000 visitors per day. The site is built on php/mysql.

Thanks a lot on some useful advices.

I am not very technical as far as the coding or web admin goes.

I am running PHPWS based website, and I already un-installed all PHPWS modules that i don't use and emailed lunarpage so we will se what they say.
I run ad sense, webalizer, google analytics. No cron jobs. PHPWS in itsells has some scripts that needs to be run all the time i think.
Converting anything to HTML is not a possibility since we have some doctors uploading cases and images them self, and it is very easy to do with PHPWS and their article manager.

Installing modules wont help much since you're on shared hosting, not vps or dedicated.

Quite true but caching can drastically reduce cpu and ram usage...shared hosts mainly limit them.

Anyway, a better option is to go VPS. ;)
