    Hey,

I have been a webmaster for just over a year now, and i guess i know a few basics.

Within that year my host has been 1and1, there service has been not great to be honest, bad support, and there site admin is very slow.
The reason i am staying with the however is the space and bandwith they provide.

But recently, they locked my account, for no apparent reason, i have email all there "departments" and have got no vaild responce, but thats another matter.

Anyway. Yeh i host a fansite for stars. And i also host a few other random sites.

Curently im getting about 5k unquie & returning users a day to my sites a day.
My aim would be about 50k by the end of this year, with more spare time on my hands. I also host a video site, so i would need alot of bandwith and the server requiements.

My question is. Who/what would you recomend i look for in a host? Or what host would you recomend?

I was thinking i should get a vps, but im not quite sure of the advantages...

A ds would be to much for me though as i have seen them at $200+ a month and im not quite sure how i would mange or controll it.

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hi Ninjasoft,

Take a look at http://vectorlevel.com - we provide a streamlined hosting environment for your websites. How much space and bandwidth do you need? Custom plans are available.

    Thanks.

    I recommend HostGator.com

I haven't had any experiene with http://vectorlevel.com, so I can't really compare the two. Anyways, HostGator is my recommendation.

    Cheers!

A VPS is a fixed portion of a dedicated server so you have your own guaranteed resources. A managed vps plan will start around $35-$40 per month.

Depending on the amount of bandwidth and resources, you may need a dedicated server, with some management offered, so the company will take care of updating the software and keeping it secure. If you can't afford it though, try to look for a VPS, since you do plan to grow by quite a bit.
